Training
Mel has competed to a high level in both dressage and three-day evening, and she supports riders competing in a range of disciplines but with one thing in common - they want to improve, work hard and get the most out of their partnership with their horse. Mel’s decades of experience and drive to see her clients succeed means that she gets impressive results in group and individual training sessions.
One-to-one training
Private lessons with Mel are the gold standard for riders hoping to move up the levels in dressage, perfect the first phase in eventing or elevate their showjumping with responsive, accurate riding between fences. A series of one-to-one lessons enables Mel to discover your goals, assess what you need to work on and put together a series of bespoke training sessions to move the needle.
Training camps
Mel’s two-day training camps are perfect for both dressage and eventing partnerships and are held over weekends and on midweek dates. The camps include:
● Overnight stabling for your horse.
● 2 private lessons with Mel.
● Test riding in front of a British Dressage judge.
● Test judging practice.
● A rider-focused Pilates session.
● A horse feeding advice workshop with Baileys.
● Lunch both days and an evening meal.
● A lot of fun and a positive atmosphere!
The camps are held here at TCE HQ which means you benefit from our superb indoor school (ideal if the weather is wet and windy), our comfortable clubhouse and plenty of space. We can arrange for more private lessons and additional nights stabling for those who would like to extend their stay. To find out when our next camp is being held or to learn more about what’s involved, please contact us using the information here (link to contact page) or take a look at our Facebook page.
The coffee & cake club
Is there a better combination than a lesson with your horse and then some homemade cake and refreshments? Our popular Coffee & Cake Club gives you the chance to have a lesson with Mel (which can be private or with up to three friends) followed by some of our delicious homemade cakes, traybakes and other delights and something to drink in our smart clubhouse.
The first lesson starts around 10am and we run all the way until around 7:30pm, so it’s possible for people who work during the day, have kids at school or work shifts. Our fantastic facilities mean that Coffee & Cake Club can go ahead regardless of the weather outside, so we run the club (normally on a Thursday and once or twice a month) all year-round.
Drop us a line or send us a message to learn more and find out when the dates we have in the diary now.
Other training options
We also offer day camps with Mel, ideal for people who can’t commit to the two-day camp and the chance to ‘stay and train’ with your horse (but away from the environment of our group camps). Mel also attends off-site clinics across the north of England and further afield, so if you are interested in attending a clinic or arranging one at your venue, just get in touch.
