I hope all my followers and of course their horses have been able to stay cool and cope during the intense heat we’ve had recently. My staff and I have been getting up very early to work horses before it gets too hot and altering training regimes until the weather gets back to normal. We’re told that extreme weather like this will become more and more common so it will be interesting to see how yard design and event management plans evolve to cope with prolonged heat. For once, we really would love some rain here in North Yorkshire! So, what has been going on at TCE this month?
July Happenings
I’ve been out and about competing, including taking a lorry full of TCE horses to the Premier League at Vale View Equestrian Centre in Leicestershire. Day one was a very long one, but TCE Jinte, TCE Jubilant Al Sno and Inocencio DHI all worked their socks off and improved so much over the two days we were there.
Star of the show was TCE Jinte owned by myself, Karen Reynolds and Jane Morris Abson. She was just amazing to finish second in the advanced medium on 70%. She felt so good and has come so far recently that we are really excited about her.
We held our first ever one-day camp in July, and it was a great success, despite being an absolute scorcher of a day (there seems to be a theme emerging here!). All the riders and their horses made heaps of progress in just one day and were so supportive of each other too, both of which give me enormous pleasure to see. We have another one-day camp in the diary for later this summer (details below) so if you’re interested, book your spot now. It’s always good to get feedback from people who have come along to our camps and lessons, especially when it’s as lovely as this! “Just what I needed! It was a super day, very well run with lovely food to boot! Highly recommend it.”
August and September Camp Dates
Speaking of our camps, there are both two and one-day camps in the diary and there are still spaces if you would like to join myself and the team. The dates for your diary are:
● 6th and 7th of August for a two-day training camp
● 14th August for a one-day training camp
● 10th and 11th September for another two-day training camp
The one-day camp includes a private lesson with me, lunch and a test riding session in the afternoon with a BD-listed judge, and day stabling is provided. The two-day camps include two private lessons with me, test riding with a BD-listed judge, a rider-focused Pilates session, Baileys feed advice, test judging practice, lunch included both days and one evening meal. Overnight stabling and use of the stable on both days is also provided. All camp attendees take away goody bags from my sponsors, which includes Baileys Horse Feeds.
Baileys Horse Feeds
A little like we humans, with horses what you put in is what you get out. I know from years of experience how important the quality of the feed and supplements we use is to keeping the horses happy and healthy, which is why I’m proud to be sponsored by the superb www.baileyshorsefeeds.com. Their focus on high quality ingredients, modern and innovative formulations and meticulous production means I always have total confidence in their feeds and the knowledge of our local reps. They are also very generous, giving a nutritional talk at our two-day camps and donating goody bags for all camp attendees.
