May has been another whirlwind month for all of us here at Team Chapman Equestrian and it’s been hard to carve out enough time to sit and write a blog. Luckily for you, I’ve managed it and it seems that there’s lots to update you on! I’ve been busy taking the horses out competing, including one rather exhausting day when I rode six horses in two tests each, which was a grand total of nine different dressage tests to learn. It’s safe to say that both my body and my brain were exhausted after that but coming home with wins and places meant it was well worth it. We have so many exciting horses competing in both dressage and eventing at the moment that I really do recommend following Team Chapman Equestrian on social media to keep track!
As well as a lot of riding and competing, I’ve also loved seeing the yard become a hive of activity in the spring. We held another fantastic camp on May 5th and 6th, and it was a sell-out success! Our camps include private lessons, test riding with a BD judge, a Baileys horse feeds advice session and rider Pilates, as well as overnight stabling and lots of tasty food for the people! We always have a blast, and you will make new friends and see improvement in your horse and your riding - what better way to spend a couple of days?
If you’re interested in our camps, then take a look at our upcoming dates and drop us a line to book. It’s just £75 to secure your place.
● June 20th and 21st (mid-week)
● July 9th and 10th
● August 6th and 7th
● September 10th and 11th.
We also welcome people to the yard every other Thursday for our popular coffee and cake club. Another winning combination in my eyes, this is the chance to come along for a lesson (which can be private or with up to 3 friends in a small group) with me and then you get to enjoy coffee and homemade cake in our super clubhouse. The lessons run from mid-morning all the way through until the evening so it’s perfect for people working shifts or who can’t make daytimes. The next one is on the 9th of June so again, drop me a line for available lesson times.
I also wanted to make a little mention of one of our sponsors in this month’s blog - Custom Saddlery. This super company is a British saddle manufacturer and has an incredible range of saddle styles which are incredibly comfortable for horse and rider. As the name suggests, the range of customisation options is out of this world! You can choose from so many different styles of leather (think crocodile, patent and more) colours of stitching and welting and even some bling to match your browband with diamante inserts. Our local fitter for Custom Saddles is North Yorkshire Saddles, and Helen there is so knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to their range of saddles. I can certainly highly recommend and the results the horses are getting show that they are comfortable doing their job. Make sure you take a closer look at their gorgeous designs!
