We have some very exciting news for followers of Team Chapman Equestrian - our shiny new indoor school is nearly finished, and it is AMAZING! We’ve been waiting a long time for it, but it seems to have been able to have been ridden in at just the right moment... After a very dry early spring the rain has well and truly arrived in North Yorkshire. We’ve had torrential downpours and gale-force wind to contend with and it must be said that we were feeling very happy and smug indeed to be riding indoors and listening to all that going on outside!
The indoor school will also be a welcome sight for anyone visiting for a training camp or to try a horse, if those dark clouds start to gather while you’re here. The surface is riding beautifully and it’s everything we hoped for. It’s also super for helping young horses focus on new and tricky movements during their training. We’re also excited about being able to compete indoors again soon. It has been frustrating to battle inclement weather at shows and events while a large indoor school sits nearby totally empty. Here’s hoping for a summer ahead of good weather, shelter when needed and fewer restrictions.
Speaking of restrictions being eased and life becoming more sociable… we’re delighted to unveil our new Dressage Coffee Club! The idea is that riders of all ages and abilities can gather here once a fortnight on a Thursday for an hour’s group training from Mel and then relax afterwards with a coffee and a slice of cake! Our new indoor school will have a wonderful coffee bar, and we think this is the perfect way to enjoy it. Just chat to fellow equestrian friends to see if they’re keen and book a slot which suits you all. The hour-long slots are available every Thursday during the day and into the evening, so even those who work during the day can join the coffee club.
Don’t forget to share some images on Facebook afterwards and tag us and your friends in! We share lots of information on our Facebook page including details of the horses currently for sale here at Team Chapman Equestrian, our training camps and updates from our days out competing. Make sure you follow us if you’re interested in one of our horses or visiting Melissa and the team for training.
