Competition season is full steam ahead!

We seem to have a lot to celebrate here at Team Chapman Equestrian as we kick off the summer. We have our dreamy new indoor school; our camps have started up (it is just wonderful seeing so many happy faces as our pupils make progress with their horses) and the sun is finally shining! What a long, wet spring that was after a long, cold winter. And all that good news is before we’ve even updated you on our adventures at the regional dressage championships and other events over the past month or so. It’s been a busy time!

We took horses to three days of the Winter Regional Championships at Bishop Burton College at the start of June, and it’s safe to say it was well worth the effort. Even a double tyre blowout on the way back from our first day there couldn’t dampen the mood. I was over the moon to secure a Nationals Ticket with Romeo thanks to our 2nd place finish in a hot advanced medium and a 6th place in the medium gold. We look forward to strutting our stuff at the Nationals a little later this year! Time to get training…

The other horses we took also performed brilliantly and made me so proud of their progress. The Reynold’s family Inocencio DHI was such a good boy to finish 8th in the advanced medium and 6th in the medium gold with a smidge under 70%, even with giddy moments.

The 7-year-old Jaguar DHI, who is owned by Jay McKind, had a great medium test. He tried so hard and finished 7th with one judge having him at over 70% - amazing!

We’ve also had Holly busy taking some of our dressage-turned-eventing horses out to compete. The lovely Honey, a 9-year-old Apache x Beaujolais mare (who is also for sale if you know anyone looking for a lovely horse to bring on), won her first BE 90 on her dressage score. Holly also took the Saxby family’s classy 5-year-old Ladejo to his first ever BE 90 at Warwick Hall. They too took the top spot in their class, going clear to finish on their dressage score. What a lovely pair of horses to watch for the future. Here’s to a long, happy summer of competitions, camps and fun! Make sure you follow us on Facebook to hear about dates of our training camps and to sign up.
